Our Philosophy

We acquire companies with exceptional management teams and an identifiable economic “moat”. We take a custodial approach letting management operate their businesses. We do seek to find operational efficiencies and encourage our portfolio companies to work synergistically together.

We have over 100 years combined experience in both industry and private equity. We work together to execute Equicapita’s hybrid current income and equity return strategy.

Equicapita is a Canadian private equity investment fund with offices in Calgary and the Greater Toronto Area. Equicapita was established to enable retail and institutional investors to acquire ownership interests in Canadian private, small and medium sized enterprises (“SMEs”). As entrepreneurs ourselves, the principals of Equicapita recognize the need for an efficient source of long-duration capital and private equity experience that provides SME owners with a flexible ownership transition solution. Equicapita provides this solution. Our aim is to preserve the legacy of, and continue building, the SMEs that we acquire through long-term partnerships with managers, employees and other key stakeholders.
